The AcupunctureRehabilitation Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine is a World Health Organization (WHO) International Acupuncture Clinical Training Base, a National Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Rehabilitation Demonstration Center (first batch) designated by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine,a Key Discipline, Key Specialty, and TCM Advantage Discipline Continuing Education Base recognized by nationalprovincial authorities. It is also a Jiangsu Provincial TCM Key SpecialtyModel Specialty.

The department boasts a distinguished team of professionals, including National Mentors for Inheriting Academic Experience of Senior TCM Experts, Jiangsu Provincial Renowned TCM Physicians, Jiangsu Provincial Renowned Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine Experts, National Outstanding TCM Clinical Talents, Jiangsu Provincial TCM Leading Talents, Jiangsu "333 Project" Talents, Jiangsu "Six Talent Peaks" Scholars, and Chief Experts in AcupunctureRehabilitation. With 102 medical staff, the department comprises 7 doctoral supervisors, 8 master’s supervisors, 18 chief physicians, 11 associate chief physicians, 30 rehabilitation therapists,a highly skilled nursing team, forming a robust foundation for its rapid development.

Integrating ChineseWestern Medicine with Distinct TCM Characteristics

The department champions a "Three Specialties" model—specialized diseases, expert teams,unique therapies—and implements an "Integrated Three-Role" approach, combining physicians, therapists,nurses for collaborative care. The inpatient division spans two campuses: the Main Hospital (45 beds)the Jiangning Branch (500 beds), primarily treating stroke, spinal cord injuries, neck-shoulder-lumbar-leg pain, facial paralysis,other conditions.

●Main Hospital Outpatient Clinic:

Traditional Acupuncture Zone: 14 consultation rooms118 treatment beds.

Rehabilitation Center: A 300-square-meter space equipped with 60+ advanced rehabilitation devices from Chinaabroad.

Traditional Therapy Center: 11 consultation rooms, 28 treatment beds, and 30+ specialized TCM therapies for over 100 diseases across 37 specialties.

●Jiangning Branch Outpatient Clinic:

Features balance testingtraining systems, overhead rail systems, multi-parameter biofeedback, virtual reality interaction,unique therapies such as sand therapy, herbal fumigation, head therapy, wax therapy, and herbal stick acupoint massage.

Houses a Pediatric Rehabilitation Center with sensory integrationmulti-sensory training rooms.

Specialized clinics address pediatric encephalopathy, stroke, insomnia, chronic pain, chronic cough, skin diseases, obesity, aesthetic concerns, irritable bowel syndrome, mood disorders, gynecologicalandrological conditions,sports injuries.

Over the past five years, the department has ledparticipated in 117 research projects, including 8 National Natural Science Foundation grants and 9 provincial/ministerial projects. Its members have published 187 papers (45 SCI-indexed)authored 20+ academic monographs. Recognized for innovation, the department has received 3 ScienceTechnology Awards from the China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, 1 China Rehabilitation Medicine Association ScienceTechnology Award, 1 China Association of Integrative Medicine ScienceTechnology Award, 2 Jiangsu Provincial ScienceTechnology Awards, 4 Jiangsu Health Commission Medical New Technology Introduction Awards, and 1 Jiangsu TCM ScienceTechnology Award.
